Outside In, Portland, Oregon Located in Portland, Oregon, the Outside In new facility is a 28,000 sq. ft. four story building with a basement that replaces various smaller facilities previously occupied by the non-profit agency that provides services to homeless youth of Portland. It is a mixed use medical, office, and residential building designed with sloping walls and architectural elements to be non-traditional. The structural is wood framing mixed with a steel moment resisting space frame for flexibility of use. Lewis and Van Vleet Inc. provided structural and civil engineering services for the project, and donated half of the fee to Outside In, along with others in the design and construction team.
